Self Sabotage and The Broke Mentality

Shadow work prompts

What is holding you back from your full potential?

Name distractions/excuses/habits from your daily life.

Today’s shadow work prompt is on self-sabotage. If you’re unfamiliar, shadow work is the process of identifying, accepting, and finding a way to positively integrate our shadow side traits aka “unfavorable” traits into our lives. Here’s a more in-depth video from my channel on shadow work.

Please share your answers to the shadow work prompts in the comment section below. I would love to see your responses!

What is holding you back from your full potential?

Name distractions/excuses/habits from your daily life.

1. Broke mentality

I’ve lived my entire life having a fear-based relationship with money and I didn’t even realize it! I always found the cheapest way to buy and do everything.

Every dollar I lost felt like that paralyzing pain you get when you hit your funny bone.

I would start thinking about everything I wouldn’t be able to afford every time I spent money. This thought process is poison because if you’re constantly putting out “I’m broke” energy, you’ll keep attracting broken energy and broken pockets. We have to go from giving up and just saying “I’m broke”, “I can’t afford it” to “I’m wealthy”, “I’m thriving”, “My life is abundant”, “Money comes naturally to me” etc. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have the money in front of you right now. Your mind will show you how to get it. It starts from the mind. I know it’s hard for some to believe in the power of words, I felt the same way. Especially when it comes to finances, it can feel crazy to trust in the universe. But manifestation is 100℅ real. Good or bad we are constantly manifesting our lives through the things we choose to think about. Take a moment to notice how your thoughts and decisions have manifested into your life. Has talking badly about your financial situation ever improved it? When we get caught up in our heads about how terrible our situation is, the situation always manages to get worse because in those moments we’re feeding into that negativity and attracting more of it into our lives. There’s a big difference between acknowledging our situations for what they are vs complaining and staying in them. You are the only person who can change your life. But you have to open your mind to the power of the universe for this to work. Lift yourself to that new vibration. Speak life into your wallet. Stay conscious of your thoughts and watch what happens.
